High Definition NewsBytes?

- You might have thought NewsByte2 was crazy for reporting about the whiter bug the other day. But a poster at TVNewsTalk reports that KYW in Philadelphia's bug had a similar change on Sunday, a day before the station started broadcasting its news in high defition.

- Speaking of the logo/time/temperature bug, it looks like the main control room isn't the one in charge of displaying it anymore. Since it became less transparent, it has not been displaying on wcbstv.com's live feeds of the noon, 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 newscasts. There are also instances when the bug is not punched up for an extended length of time on TV. It seems as if Master Control might now be responsible for it.

- High definition monitors were recently added to the newsroom. While most of the screens in the background haven't been changed, you can see the two on the right side are new.

- Ducis Rodgers was partially cut off of the screen at the end of his sports report. Could this be indicative of HD cameras now being in place in Studio 46?

So when exactly is CBS 2 going high definition anyway? And how much visually will change? It's been two and a half weeks since the evening set went in hiding. How much of a makeover is it getting?

KYW's logo bug is so nice and clean. Why couldn't WCBS kept the one they introduced last spring? Instead of this nast one they have encased in a box.
